Do you find that people naturally gravitate to you seeking solace? Do people tell you how supported they feel by your presence? Do you have a flair for listening? This course is an opportunity to refine this affinity with greater attunement and skill to be of benefit to others.
The course is a unique one following a mindfulness-based approach and focusing on the inner listening paradigm. The course is experiential and practical with just sufficient theory to supplement an experiential understanding of what it means to hold space for another. To be there for another, we need to encounter ourselves deeply and so the course design includes self-reflection, engagement in non-sectarian mindfulness practices, personal sessions with experienced counselors/listeners and peer sessions. Inner listening and self-care are key components of the course.

Sandy’s grounded presence, deep knowledge on the subject and adaptive way of teaching made for a very welcoming and enriching learning experience. I loved that the sessions had a good balance of theory and experience which allowed me to get a good understanding of the concepts.
From my first conversation at Just Being, I have felt a deep resonance with the vision of the centre. Going through the course was a process of self-actualization for me on many levels. Every discussion and interaction has taught me so much; not only knowledge of the subject but an inner-understanding. It is rare in these times to come across such a genuine team of people with deep knowledge, integrity and such empathy. I feel so much joy and privilege to be connected with JBC.
A journey full of experiences is the one worth cherishing for a lifetime. Well, this journey at Just Being would be the one, the polaroids of which I shall carry around with me everywhere. Being connected with the center has given me a new perspective to look at life, and has helped me soulfully define a way of being. The warmth of the space and the Just Being family will always hold a special place in my heart.
This course has been invaluable for me. It has been ‘tough’ in that it has brought up old trauma, patterns and behavior but it has provided me the tools, language and support to be with my experience. I have already been able to help a number of people in very significant ways by applying what I learnt here. My relationships and work and lifestyle have all improved too.
This course has helped me much more than I had expected. I came to this course wondering if I wish to pursue a career in counselling. This set the ground for me. One of the peers (a clinical psychologist) said, “This course orients you to the human side of the counselling process.” The course definitely has helped me become a better listener in the counselling process, and I also see myself growing as a human being. I’ve benefited from the course on different levels.
Attending the listening course at Just Being has been one amongst the life changing events for me. Delving into the deep waters of emotions and being present in the very moment was the greatest picking from this course and also an enriching experience. Being from an engineering background, we are habituated to be logical about everything. I genuinely thank Sandy and Just Being for facilitating my journey into the realm of mindfulness which is beyond the bounds of all conventional logic.
I felt very supported throughout the course from my teacher and from my peers. When I got derailed in the middle and lost confidence, I received motivation and encouragement from my peers. Sandy was very understanding and created a safe space for us to be exactly who we are and get through the course at our own pace. I also feel there has been an immense growth for myself (personally).
