The Art of Being Webinar series is meant for mental health professionals, counselors, psychologists, social workers. Open to all irrespective of already existing training or experience.
While mostly we focus on knowledge and skills and ‘what to do’ in therapy, we rarely focus on the dimension of `being’. The ‘Art of Being’ brings into focus this dimension along with the ‘doing’ through an exploration of Mindfulness, Compassion, Presence & Non-Dual Wisdom for the therapist and in therapy.
Session 1 : Theme : Mindfulness a Pathway to Presence
In this session, we will look at Mindfulness and explore the true essence of Mindfulness as a pathway to Presence and how through the mindfulness practices of the therapist we can bring in our deep embodied Presence in therapy.
Session 2 : Theme : Embodiment & Mindfulness
The evidence based approaches in Mindfulness in therapy emphasize the attention to an internal sensing of the body (building a capacity of interoceptive awareness). Explore in this webinar why it is critical and simple ways we can build our capacity for embodiment.
Session 3 : Theme : Trauma informed Mindfulness
Mindful Awareness has tremendous potential for transformative change and brings us in touch with a deeper sense of Self that is inherently resourced and whole. In this process it may touch into deeply held imprints especially in the soma. Knowing how the physiology responds, understanding trauma and supporting the physiology becomes imperative.
In this webinar, learn more about this interface between mindfulness and trauma and tools to navigate this in your own meditative practice as well as clinical work. You will also learn when mindfulness as a formal practice is useful and when it is not and other alternative ways of coming into mindful awareness.
Session 4 : Theme: Integrating Mindfulness in Therapy – Core Concepts from Buddhist Psychology
These experiential and interactive sessions will be held once a month, on the first Sunday- 10 am to 11 am IST.
